Clinics

Practice Nurse Clinics and Health Promotion

The Practice Nurses run clinics for the continuous care of patients suffering from chronic diseases which include coronary heart disease, diabetes, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and asthma. They can offer advice on a wide variety of health matters and also give advice such as diet, exercise, healthy lifestyle and travel advice.

Health Care Support Worker

Our Health Care Support Worker holds clinics for many different procedures and investigations including blood tests, blood pressure checks and  weight checks.

Free NHS Health Check

The practice is also currently inviting patients aged 40-74 years of age and carers without a pre-existing cardiovascular health condition for a health check .  The check only takes about 30 minutes and can help you to reduce your risk of heart disease, stroke, diabetes or kidney disease.  Please contact reception to book an appointment.

Cervical Screening

Cervical smear tests are available at the practice and are carried out by one of our Practice Nurses or GP depending on the patient’s choice. Women aged 25 to 49 receive invitations every 3 years. Women aged 50 to 64 receive invitations every 5 years.

Minor Surgery

Minor surgery procedures involve the removal of minor skin lesions, ingrowing toenails and joint injections.  You will need to have been reviewed by one of our GP’s before a minor surgical procedure. Dr Stoddart provides the minor surgical procedures along with help from either our Health Care Support Worker.

Smoking Cessation

Any of our GP’s and Practice Nurses can provide advice and support for stopping smoking. Alternatively help is available to anyone wishing to stop from:

  • Bury Stop Smoking Service – Call 0845 223 9001
  • Health Trainers – 0845 071 0699
