Routine Appointments

We operate a computerised appointments system of pre-bookable 10 minute appointments.  You can make an appointment with any Doctor at the Practice and express a preference regarding which Doctor you wish to see.    Routine appointments can be made over the telephone, face-to-face at reception or on line via the On line Appointments Booking link.

Emergency Appointments

If you need to see a doctor urgently it may not always be possible to see the doctor of your choice.  We offer same day telephone triage calls for all emergency consultations.

Children under 12 years old will be offered a same day appointment for all medical emergencies and will not be offered telephone triage.

To book an Emergency appointment , please follow these simple steps:

  • Contact the surgery as early as possible.
  • A doctor calls you back (It is important that you maintain current telephone contact details with the surgery).
  • You are always seen if needed.

Telephone Triage – for the best care at the best place at the best time for you

We have operated a telephone triage service for some time. For those not familiar with the triage system here is how it works:

  • If you have an emergency and need to speak to a clinician urgently please phone the surgery – our phone line opens at 8am.
  • Triage is for patients who feel they require an urgent appointment only and therefore does not include medication request or sick note requests.
  • You have to be available to come down to the surgery within 1-2 hours if needed. If you are going to work then it is not an emergency for telephone triage.
  • Your call will be triaged along with many other calls in a morning; this means we may not be able to give you an exact time you will be called back.
  • Triage does not always mean you have to come to the surgery on the same day. The doctor may be able to deal with your query over the phone, or they may signpost you to a more appropriate service or book you for a routine appointment if appropriate.
  • Children under the age of 5 years will automatically be offered a GP appointment without the need for a telephone triage.
  • If you are having dental problems then please contact your dentist or the Dental Access Centre on 0161 716 2525.
  • If you are suffering from problems with your eyes then please contact your optician or the Minor Eye Conditions Service (
  • If you have a minor ailment then please see your local pharmacist as the first port of call. Another useful resource is to help patients self-care and manage minor ailments.
